Global warming and stuff.

OK.

Global warming is so happening to us.

House seems OK, no leaking roofs, no smashed windows, and all family members are accounted for. Had to turn off all power for about 3 hours, and quietly freak out with the cats.

It took the husband 3 and half hours to get home via public transport. Those were some bad times - was pretty freaked out. The whole frigging city was in a gridlock.

This type of weather does not happen to Perth, WA. Like, fuck, we are the state and city with the droughts and fire.

In short - all OK, and glad I don't live in the western suburbs.

Perth, WA, Australia experienced a 3 hour freak storm. Hail the size of balls came, trees got uprooted, windows were smashed and so forth.

The boy was on his way home, a journey that usually takes him half an hour took 3 and half hour as traffic lights went out, cars were flooded and emergency had to get people from car accidents and so forth.

I was at home freaking the fuck out because at one point my mobile and landline connection all went out while the house was bombarded by hail.

However, all is well, and we got off pretty light, people in the western suburbs have had some serious damage.

Yeah, my brother was still at uni about 8pm I think. Smashed windows at Winthrop Hall, and at least one of the libraries has been damaged, which makes me wince at what the water must have done to the computers and the books. Called back, and so far the house seems to be intact, albeit still without electricity, and the cars are thankfully fine. But wow, freaky weather.
