HELL YEAH!

That's how you end part 1 of a series. Yes, Veritas, I'm looking at you. You end it with HOPE, and not gut wrenching angst. You end it with all the reasons why you fell in love the characters in the first place. You END it with the feeling of HAPPINESS and NEEDING more!

SHIOON! I LOVE YOU! The next part is going to be insane.

WANTS NOW! OH GODS! SOMEBODY! TALK TO ME ABOUT THIS SERIES! PLEASE!

ETA: supplanter! SPEAK TO ME! I will even ACCEPT emoticons! This series deserves so MUCH more LOVE!

<is summoned!>

... I just wanted to say, but doesn't Sosul's retainer dude (the doorman, with the suit and light hair and no eyes), remind you of the first hunter test administrator (in HunterxHunter) with the curly mustache?  SOMEHOW.

Also, IT'S A GOOD THING THE FIRST CHAPTER OF THE NEXT SERIES IS OUT ALREADY, OR MY RESPONSE WOULD HAVE BEEN BASICALLY ASHFDKLHA:FHSKLH AND THAT'S ALL.

Progress is not as straightforward as the ending of pt1 suggested it would be, but that's a good thing!  I didn't think all that much of Shioon's characterization in pt1, but I feel like he got much more fleshed out in the first chapter in NW, so now I actively like him, as opposed to just circumstantially liking him, if you know what I mean? XD;;

Aw, Mr. Squinty is so worried! :(

Yes he does. They both exudes this DORK factor that they try to hide by their APPARENT AWESOMENESS. But really, DORK! (OH GODS! Are you following HunterxHunter? I’m so CONFUSED by it, especially by Gon’s new powers).
Um, you might seriously consider NOT reading Veritas till the first chapter of the new series comes out. The ending of part 1 for Veritas is truly, um, FUCKING!ARGH!HULK!SMASH!.
Uh-hum – progress of manhwa always appears straight forward but usually have about 100 other things going on at the same time. One of the things that manhwa have over manga is the, um, well, I suppose the plot and emotional complexity, and characters are always more than they appear. I think I’m still stuck on why the Murim decided to kill Chun-woo’s master, the fact that his abilities would have potentially led to something truly monstrous. Also, HOW AWESOME is Chun-woo and Shioon’s relationship? It is just fricking awesome and perfect, and I want to draw little hearts around the two of them, except in completely platonic ways, and isn’t hilarious that Shioon is sticking to the whole, ‘I refuse because my master did not want me to be part of Murim’.
Also, I miss Shiho.
This new arc is going to be interesting; I really hope they don’t full into the trap of HIGH SCHOLL children FIGHTS! Don’t get me wrong, it would be entertaining, but I’m really interested in the Murim and Shioon’s new clan. I understand the circumstantial like completely! Half the reason I like him so much is due to what he was able to do for Chun-woo, but my true love for the boy pretty much came about from chapter 68 onwards… which is kind of interesting. I’m more in love with his relationship with Chun-woo than with Shioon himself. Or well, I was, but I kind of adore him post chapter 1 of NW. He is just hilarious without meaning to be.
I WANT more back story about Mr. Squinty, the implied back story of him and the Chun-woo, WANTS so much! But yes, so worried! And which Elder is Shioon’s enemy?

Also, WTF? With Balckforest, and will Chun-woo figure out who ordered Shiho’s death? And how will Shioon gets’ his ki-centre healed? WANTS!!!

I am caught up with HxH... are his recent breaks also health-related, or is he just taking things easy as a general policy?  I mean, look out for yourself, man, just as a fan I am always happy to see MOAR CANON, you know? XD;;

I don't remember being confused about Gon's powers, but shall go back and have a look, I guess?  I may just have been distracted by the hilarious healing of the King by his royal guards—Togashi is excellent at trolling! XD;;;;;

I haven't read much manwha before!  Um, I think it was just Island... and 1001 Nights?  But ppl have been reccing me lots of manwha lately, though I'll take your advice on not reading Veritas just yet.

The Murim didn't kill Chun-Woo's master, though?  They just isolated him (semi-willingly; I assume he wasn't so pleased with himself for unwittingly killing everyone previously in charge) and the chairman especially wanted him not-eliminated so he could learn the technique?  Though if that's what you meant, and why the chairman had to argue for his continued existence, he did kill all their predecessors, didn't he, even if he was sorry about it afterwards. XD;;  And then he taught Chun-Woo on the sly, which he wasn't supposed to do (I imagine!) and Chun-Woo humiliated all of their students....

I didn't really like Shioon before... I mean, he's the main character and even in his relatively wimpy stage Chunwoo and Shiho found him interesting so of course we are supposed to find him interesting, but I was kind of >.> at the Pacifism when you're talking about ppl who might just have killed your acquaintance (Alex could totally have been dead! and then what!) while not executing them endangers clearly secret and important ongoing operations, but I had some respect for him when he accepted the consequences of his actions and said they should relocate and he could just get training later.  I like him now because he's not laboring under some tragic misunderstanding about Chunwoo and being all Woes and T.T, and that he is just a good person while still having some insight and sense of self-preservation ("how did she know where I live?", "why would I trust you when you claim I'm in danger?")

I think Mr. Squinty and Mr. Bug-Eyed Perv would have entwined backstories with Chunwoo, no? XD;;

I'm not sure how disappointing high school children fights would happen?  I mean, they would have to be from the Murim anyway... I don't miss Shiho really, but I am Waiting for Sosul (and kind of dreading it, since she may not look like a loli anymore, and... it might be bad. >.>;;;)

I’m pretty sure I have missed a volume or two because the whole Gon can accelerate his growth to that of an adult was completely new and unexpected for me. I LOVE Killua. Togashi is hilarious, and I’m always confused by people who actually take him seriously. I think Togashi is one of the few mangakas out there who have made enough money to never have to work again if he doesn’t want to. Yu Yu Hakusho probably set him for life. The fact he is married to the lady who wrote and created Sailor Moon probably helps too. He can take a break if he wants to.

I love manhwa, it is just that I have reached the point where I go into any manhwa series prepared to be gutted for part of it, if not the whole thing.

It is all the implications of Chun-Woo having survived this long with the assistance of the chairman. And to be fair, I can’t even tell you what implications I’m going for here, beside the emotions of guilt and hope the chairman must have had… or you know, GREED.

. I like him now because he's not laboring under some tragic misunderstanding about Chunwoo and being all Woes and T.T, and that he is just a good person while still having some insight and sense of self-preservation ("how did she know where I live?", "why would I trust you when you claim I'm in danger?")

EXACTLY! It really threw me when he had those thoughts. I was like, OMFG! Shioon, have you grown a brain?

Mr Squinty and Mr Bug-Eyed probably had some horribly tragic past with Chunwoo. About how they believed him, and trusted him, and then their hopes were dashed, and blah, blah, blah. BTW: I adore their interaction with Shioon, I foresee much LOLs there. I mean, Mr. Squinty have pretty much ended up with a kid that is unbelievably nice and naïve, and completely unknown in regards to Murim politics, the fact he is also the disciple (sure, kicked out and such) of ChunWoo makes the whole situation unbelievably tricky.

I just realised that they have in Shioon a person who can’t practice martial arts, but have all the knowledge. The bleeding phone.

I just hope they keep up the politics, because I find it utterly fascinating. Sosul is going to be a interesting trip, and gods, my fear is that they are going to make her into a big-boobed lady, which is fine, but part of her charm is that she look like a kid.

I think Togashi is one of the few mangakas out there who have made enough money to never have to work again if he doesn’t want to.

That's what I thought, and hoped!  Wanting to take things easy is better than the alternative, which I guess is constantly being on his deathbed.... >.>

If you missed a chapter, it may have been sufficient to confuse you, I guess? XD;  Though he's been putting things out a volume's worth of chapters out between each hiatus, so if you managed to miss him coming off hiatus entirely I guess it could be possible... but Pitou agrees to fight Gon after Komugi is healed, and there are some revelations about Kaitou, which is when Gon does his thing.

Anyway, I didn't really consider that the chairman might have had many/any motivations outside of greed? XD;  He's managed to come off as a total dick, so I'm uninclined towards sympathy even if it turns out he had nobler intentions earlier on.  Was Chunwoo's master older or younger than the chairman?  (Looks younger, I thought....)  Getting passed over by their master for his kouhai would probably have been a serious burn; if the chairman were younger, though, and they used to have a good relationship, getting passed over for Chunwoo could have been a serious burn?  I guess I could see the guilt, then, but do you mean hope that Chunwoo would be able to unravel the problem of LOSING YOUR MIND AND KILLING EVERYONE (open the gates, Ryoma!) or hope that Chunwoo would magically forgive him and teach him it himself? o.O

I totally agree re: Mr. Squinty and Mr. Bug-Eyed and Shioon!  Also hoping they'll keep up the politicis; actually I'm kind of ADAMANTLY REFUSING TO BELIEVE THEY WON'T. :|||||

Unfortunately no. My ability to write fiction is an exercise in futility. Oh gods, I hope thus fandom grows.
