I will be pretty silent on lj for the next 7 days or so. I'm in the process of involving myself in some emergency services support efforts for QLD, WA and potentially NSW depending on how badly things progresses.

If you have some free time (weekends, mornings and evenings) please call your local Red Cross office, or other emergency response agencies to provide your assistance.

For QLD Flood Emergency Information
Disaster Recovery Hotline: 1800 173 349
State Emergency Service: 132 500

Please visit the National Registration and Inquiry System website - https://emergency.redcross.org.au/
Register your details or find out about family and loved ones online, or call 1800 727 077 within Australia. If you are calling from outside Australia, please call +61 3 9328 3991.

Also, Department of Communities QLD is the major government initiative for emergency response. From their website - http://www.communityservices.qld.gov.au/community/community-recovery/support-assistance/index.html
