Battle: Los Angeles - I want my GK crossover!

Battle: Los Angeles is kind of awesome. The plot is straight forward and the outcome is expected, but OMFG! It is urban warfare between marines and aliens. How can it not be anything but awesome.

The only annoying thing about this film is the camera work. OMFG! STOP USING FRICKING HANDHELD CAMERA during normal character interaction and introduction. There is NO need.

During the film I kept on thanking Generation Kill for educating me on the lingo, the battle gear and of course the fucking humvee. I might have clapped like a happy little seal when the marines got themselves a humvee. Also, I kept on wondering what Brad and Nate was doing during the alien invasion.

Now I'm praying with my little fangirl heart for B:LA/GK crossover. You know, the one where Nate is ninja'ing his way out of whichever city he is in, taking care of civilians, being all competent and hot in a suit. That would be awesome, Nate scavenging weapons and gear off dead soldiers and such, trying to make it to a FOB, and somehow end up rescuing a bunch of marines. like, OMFG! Meeting up with Brad again!!!

I wish I could write. *SIGHS*.

ETA: Don't expect depth, don't expect to be scared, just enjoy the ride of urban warfare and HEROICS. There is no need for moralist discussions or philosophizing. It is human vs aliens. We are good because aliens is killing us. The end.

Oh man, you like Generation Kill too? I feel like we share the same fanish brain. Bandom, supernatural, tsn, and now Generation Kill!

Also, more importantly, that crossover sounds too awesome for words. I have hearts in my eyes. There is nothing in this world hotter than Nate being competent. Okay, maybe being copetent in a uniform (but it isn't my fault I have a uniform thing, women are trained from birth to have a uniform thing). Also, I love the idea of civilian/retired marine Nate taking up arms - deep down he most have known that he was never meant to be a civilian. And finding Brad!

OH GOD YES! I LOVE GK! I'm pretty sure we probably share more than the stated fandoms! We can almost be fandom twins!

Nate being competent in uniform is the BESTEST thing, ever! (OMFG! Agreed on the uniform thing. Just put them in a uniform and they are about 100 times hotter.) But I admit my love for post-GK Nate is astronomical. I can just imagine Nate trying out a political career post-GK (I admit everything I know about the real Nate is based off fanfiction. I'm sure the real Nate Fick is beyond awesome sauce, but I fell for the fictional depiction of Nate Fick). How he is making changes in his local city bit by bit (gods, I really need to learn more about American political system on the micro-level), and when the aliens make the initial attack Nate was being escorted out of the danger zone, except it was too late. I can just imagine Nate and a group of politicians (or at the very least office workers) getting cut off from the main evacuation point (which is just as well, it probably saved their lives). And when lasers and the fucking aliens start mowing people down Nate just ACT. At the end of the day Nate is a highly trained killing machine. He can never leave war truly behind, because no matter what Nate's instinct is to act, not just react. But yes, Nate start out orders, getting people to hide, taking guns and grenades from the dead and using it. Ohhhh, I bet Nate figured out that the aliens were using the radios to detect them first! Nate is just that awesome.

(It would be really awesome if Brad didn't even realise Nate was in the city. All he know is that they were sent the coordinates (via MOBILE PHONE TEXT) to a group of civilians that were cut off from the main evacuation party. That they included people of interest (politicians), and somehow they have managed to survive the initial culling. And when Brad get to the coordinates, he and his team is greeted by scared but REALLY organised people. And like, how the hell do civilians know to set a proper perimeter, and then he meets Nate, and it is all, "LT, I thought you and your now-civilian ass would have known better than be stuck in the middle of a hostile war zone." And Nate is like, "Brad, it is good to see you. Ray."

And just, god-dammit, I WANT!!!)

I understand the feeling. I have pretty much been thinking about this all night. Nate in a button up shirt, sleeves rolled up, tie still present, covered in dust and scrapes. Oh, happiness.

Just happy thoughts.
