CBS Greenlights Legal Drama Pilot, Contemporary ‘Sherlock Holmes’

Elementary, from CBS TV Studios and studio-based Timberman/ Beverly Prods., is described as a modern take on the cases of the pipe-smoking private eye created by Arthur Conan Doyle, with Sherlock now living in New York City. Veteran Medium writer-producer Doherty wrote the script and is executive producing the project with Sarah Timberman & Carl Beverly.

Wow. CBS, so original. Also, I truly believe the series is going to be hilarious. I hope that it will be so bad that it will become Internet famous ala the Wonder Wonman pilot.

I just find this pretty funny. XD I mean... make one change to a thing, and it is something with a cool new twist. Make ten changes to a thing, and you've got a thing that bears no relation to the first thing.

Sherlock Holmes never actually said "elementary" in canon, WHICH ONLY PROVES MY POINT.

And fandom makes crack versions of bad ideas that I would watch. Hee!

I'm waiting for people to calling it a rip off of House and/or the Mentalist. Like most tv/movie that try to capitalize on some current show in another country WITHOUT some serious love of the original text, it's doomed for failure. Also, when you change 10 ideas you might as well call it a NEW idea.

Truly, the LOLs I'll be getting from them is going to be astronomical.
